Chiropractic
is an all natural form of wellness
care which focuses on keeping the nervous system free from
obstruction so that the body has the ability to heal itself. The body is a
self-healing organism with all messages for function traveling from the brain,
through the spinal cord and the nerves, and to all of the areas of the
body. If there is interference in the path that these messages take, the
body can not do the job it was made to do.
Very minute interferences make a
huge differences when it comes to our nervous system. Pressure equaling the
weight of a dime can cause a 60% reduction of nerve function within only
a few minutes!
This type of interference has a
major effect on all systems of the body. Only 10% of the nerves in our
body our sensory nerves (the nerves that cause pain when they are being
pinched), the rest are nerves that relate to body functions.
Just because you do not have a
noticeable symptom doesn't mean you don't have a problem! Many subluxations
(pinched nerves) are caused by everyday activities, especially our bad habits
when it comes to sitting & sleeping. There are also subluxations
caused by traumatic incidents such as car accidents or birth trauma.
The doctor of chiropractic will do
multiple diagnostic and objective tests to determine whether you have any
subluxations. If you do, specific adjustments are used to reduce &/or
correct these subluxations. If you do not, no adjustments are given at
that time. Regular chiropractic check-ups are a way of ensuring that you live
the healthiest life possible.
And what is
health?
Health is the
absence of disease.
Our body is made to be
healthy. It is not made to be sick, tired, and diseased. All
diseases are caused by some sort of weakness in the body, usually in the
immune system. How was this weakness created? Are there too few
chemicals in your body? Do you have too many organs? This is the
medical doctor's remedy to all maladies. "We must either need to add
medication or remove organs to make you better." As chiropractors, we
do not believe this is the ultimate answer. The ultimate answer to being
healthy is letting the body do what it is meant to do with no interference
from the physical, chemical, and emotional stresses that we put on it every day.
